|
Dusseldorf, Germany-Mohawk Paper Mills, the only privately held United States-based text and cover mill showing at DRUPA 2000, is recognized as one of the world's leading suppliers of premium papers for the offset and digital print marketplace. Over 500,000 visitors are expected at the world's largest graphic arts trade show, which will run from May 18 - 31, 2000. Through strategic associations with leading press manufacturers, Mohawk's papers will be running on several OEM print demonstrations at DRUPA and will be represented at the American Pavilion (Hall 9, Stand 9A62-4). "While Mohawk Paper Mills currently offers the most comprehensive family of certified digital papers in the American market, we are best known for our premium printing papers like Superfine and Navajo" according to Craig Slemp, vice president for marketing and business planning. Mohawk's unique entrepreneurial culture and strong commitment to research and development have combined to make the company a leader in the manufacture of fine papers. Five consolidated paper grades represent the breadth of text and cover papers from archival Superfine, the world's standard for premium uncoated printing papers, to Navajo, Options, Satin and Textures. Mohawk also manufactures a premium matte coated paper, Mohawk 50/10plus. Long acknowledged as one of North America's leading producers of premium printing papers and respected globally for superior text and cover papers, the product line has grown in recent years to include a complete offering of products for digital presses. In 1995 and 1996, Mohawk introduced Options and Navajo with its exclusive Inxwell' process. These bulky text and cover papers offer outstanding ink holdout, low dot gain, high opacity and precise press performance-and redefined the text and cover category. Mohawk's patented Inxwell' process allowed offset printers to choose "a printing paperYhaving the appearance of uncoated paper and improved printability properties approaching those of coated papers" according to the U.S. patent office. Mohawk Digital Papers are comprised of brand leaders like Mohawk Superfine and exclusive Inxwell' papers, Navajo and Options. Mohawk Digital Papers are multi-purpose papers whose combination of superior formation, brightness and smoothness deliver the quality and appropriate sizes for digital presses including color copiers, Xeikons and the Quickmaster DI. Ultra bright/ultra smooth Mohawk Navajo has become the preferred paper for leading digital printers-with a 98 brightness Navajo boasts brilliant print results. Also available are Mohawk Satin, available in international Blue White shades and Mohawk's coated 50/10plus. "Our papers meet the rigorous performance criteria at New York's Rochester Institute of Technology, but more importantly offer print and design professionals products that work exceptionally well across a broad spectrum of digital and offset presses," adds Slemp. "Mohawk Digital Papers are engineered to perform across multiple printing platforms making them the most sensible choice for printers who require reliable, high quality results." Mohawk Paper Mills Inc. is a leader in the manufacture of premium printing papers. From its flagship grade, Mohawk Superfine, through proprietary new Inxwell products, Navajo and Options, Mohawk has engineered its papers to provide optimal performance for sheetfed, web and digital printing.
