COHOES, NY - Entries will be accepted now through March 31, 2001 for the second annual Mohawk Show, a celebration of higher thinking in graphic design. Creators of the five winning entries will be Mohawk's guests at the National AIGA Conference in Washington, D.C., entitled to a conference registration and premium accommodations. They also will be honored during a special reception at the conference. Submissions will be judged on the basis of intelligent design, appropriate use of paper, and production excellence. One winner will be chosen in each of five printing categories: dimensional printing, digital printing, web, 1-3 color sheetfed, and 4+ color sheetfed. Entries must be printed entirely on any grade of Mohawk paper, including Superfine, Navajo, Options, Satin, and 50/10plus. All commercial work is eligible, including but not limited to corporate brochures, annual reports, books, letterhead, and posters. There's no entry fee, and an unlimited number of entries will be accepted. Judges are: Ken Carbone of Carbone Smolan Agency in New York City, Denise Gonzales Crisp of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Noreen Morioka of AdamsMorioka in Beverly Hills, and Michael Vanderbyl of Vanderbyl Design in San Francisco. Mohawk Show was introduced in 1999 as a means of recognizing excellence in design and printing. It generated more than 1,000 entries from graphic designers across the United States and Canada.
