COHOES, NY Thomas D. O'Connor, Sr. has
announced a management change at Mohawk Paper Mills, Inc.
Thomas D. O'Connor, Jr. has assumed the added responsibilities of chief
executive officer, becoming the President and CEO of Mohawk. Tom O'Connor,
Sr. will continue as Chairman of the Board.
The promotion of Thomas D. O'Connor, Jr. continues a management realignment
that began at Mohawk two years ago, according to Thomas O'Connor, Sr. "At that time, Thomas D. O'Connor, Jr. was made president and chief operating
officer. This promotion coincided with several other key management moves
that have proven to be instrumental in continuing Mohawk's success in
the premium text, cover and digital printing paper markets, despite a
very difficult economy." He added, "Under Tom Jr.'s leadership, 2002
was one of the most profitable years in the mill's history. I am proud
of the ingenuity and hard work of Mohawk's employees and its management
and continue to enjoy being part of this outstanding team."
A graduate of Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, Thomas
D. O'Connor, Jr. has participated in Executive Management programs at
Harvard Business School, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Duke University's
Fuqua School of Management.
