[Cohoes, NY] – Mohawk’s fast-selling line of papers for color copy, featuring Mohawk's unique, patented Digital Imaging SurfaceTM, continues to set new performance standards for today's high-resolution color copiers.  Today, Mohawk Color Copy®raises the bar for the industry once again with heavier weights and brighter whites.

      >Heavier:   Mohawk Color Copy now available in 100 lb. cover
      >Brighter:   Mohawk Color Copy 96 now 2 points brighter

Background
Until recently, small commercial printers using color copy equipment — and even the most sophisticated among them — were unable to offer their customers something as simple as a heavy weight business card or report cover.  The heavier cover papers could not run through their color copy equipment.  Mohawk Paper Mills has combined its proven technological expertise in digital papers with its expertise in making heavy weight covers to produce new Mohawk Color Copy 100 lb. Cover.  The Mohawk Color Copy line now includes new, heavier covers and one of the brightest white color copy papers now available.

“Digital color production is expanding at a compound annual growth rate of nearly 40%, and forecast to continue through the end of the decade.  Both OEM’s and their growing customer base are looking for variety and runnability in paper stocks.  Mohawk is committed to help meet these demands through product innovations like, 100 lb. Cover, which offer reliable performance while showcasing the capabilities of the newest print engines,” says Chris Harrold, Director, Business Development, Digital Papers.

Mohawk Color Copy is now brighter than ever
Mohawk Color Copy will also be brighter:  Mohawk Color Copy 96 moves up two points in brightness for brilliant print results.  The new Mohawk Color Copy 98, will be available in the widest range of basis weights and sizes in the color copy segment.  From 24 lb. to the new 100 lb. cover Mohawk Color Copy 98 offers a solution for every application from presentations to business cards.

Customer reactions
“We have been waiting for this brighter, heavier weight paper from Mohawk Color Copy.  Now we can give our customers more options when it comes to business cards and other projects requiring a heavier paper.  We prefer using Mohawk because it always runs smoothly through our equipment and it is compatible with the equipment manufacturer standards,” says Dennis Burdge of Sir Speedy in Poway, CA.

Heavier covers add gravitas
Mohawk’s new ultra heavy weight cover for digital printing brings both substance and quality to the world of color copies.  With the introduction of more sophisticated printer/copiers from nearly every major OEM, customers demand access to the heaviest weight papers available for new applications and increasing demand.  Some printers are also specifying heavier covers to save money on direct mailings.  For example, Mathew Love from Monsanto finds that heavier covers actually cost less in the long run.  “We run a lot of postcards for the field sales reps here at Monsanto.  Because lightweight stocks often jam, the heavier card stocks are better for running through the postage meter.  Ironically, heavier stock can actually make for quicker turnaround and better image production, says Love.  With this the addition of the new 100 lb. cover, Mohawk now has the most complete range of premium ultra heavy weight cover for digital printing and for color copies.
